COVID Protests in Germany

This is eyewitness video of an protest in Dusseldorf. Hundreds of protesters joined the call of activist group 'Querdenken' (lateral thinking) in Dusseldorf on Sunday, where they were met by a large presence of police officers in riot gear. Approximately 500 protesters gathered at the Rheinpark to denounce the health and hygiene safety regulations adopted by the German government aimed at curbing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. A large number of police offices in full riot gear could be seen, as well as a few mounted police units, as the protest was originally expected to bring up around 20,000 participants. Germany extended a partial lockdown until January 10. It was enforced on November 2 after the country witnessed record numbers of cases of the novel coronavirus.
