This piece of propaganda appeared on my Instagram feed. Truth Initiative seeks to spread awareness of the dangers of smoking, vaping, and nicotine. This piece of propaganda uses a few keys of propaganda to persuade the audience. This ad activates strong emotions as it targets are most beloved family members, our pets. If you smoke, your pet is twice as likely to get cancer and you’d be at fault for your pet's pain and death. The ad in itself only uses a total of 15 words so it is very easy to read and simplifies all the harmful effects of smoking into a singular message. The audience has already learned about the harmful effects of smoking so simplifying the information substitutes critical thinking and allows the main message to be conveyed and be more powerful.

I think this is propaganda because this is a deliberate attempt to change people's perceptions, beliefs, and values in order to get people to stop consuming nicotine. I think this piece of propaganda is beneficial because nicotine is objectively bad for your body and health. This propaganda is beneficial because it persuades the audience by eliciting emotion through fear.
