I thought this ad was very powerful because it tugs at people's heartstrings. Those who have dogs can definitely relate because they aren't just a pet, they are a family member. When I watched this, I felt sad for the dog when his owner didn't come home for the night, but relieved once he came back in the morning. By saying "for some the waiting never ended" was a strong message because it means that if the owner were to have drove home drunk, he probably would have gotten into an accident and could have lost his life, meaning the dog would always be waiting without an end in sight. As a viewer and dog owner, it strongly reiterates the message to not drink and drive because I would never want to keep my dog waiting for the rest of their life. Better to be safe and come home the morning after than risk your life.

Harmful because it promotes the idea that alcohol consumption is a wholesome activity. The alcohol is embedded in the life of a young, attractive looking man who has a loving relationship with his dog. Works by associating things that look wholesome with an alcohol consuming lifestyle.

Extremely intense emotional appeal but with a positive ending. Definitely sends that message to not drink and drive. Especially to pet owners. It is positive because it ultimately uses positive emotional appeal.
