    This is a great use of pathos to persuade smokers to quit, or to just prevent smoking entirely. It gives the impression that smoking is the equivalent to committing suicide, which in the long run, it is.

    This is a wonderful way to persuade somebody. The black and white tones also add that extra bit to the thought of death- which can be prevented by not smoking. I feel that the girl is a bit too smug looking though, which could make it seem that she is happy to be dying.

    this is telling me to never smoke because it's basically like i'm just killing my self by smoking. this is effective because it can really change the way people think about smoking

    I absolutely love this picture. My grandmother died from smoking cigerettes. She died at the age of 54. They were gonna take a lung out but they were so filled with tar that if they did the other lung wouldn't be able to support the body with enough oxygen. This truly shows what you're doing to yourself everytime you take a puff of a cigerette it "takes a day of your life" away. It's just a cancer stick and thats all it really is.

    this is another picture displaying how smoking kills i agree smoking does kill but thats the persons decision to do it even if you think its disgusting other people make the choice to do it and you cant judge them for that in doing so you make them self conscious about a choice they made so i put it as harmful because you are right but thats their decision

    I think that this is an active representation of what happens when you smoke, it kills you obvious, but the other part is that you are doing it purposefully, so when you smoke you are looking straight into deaths face, and spitting at him. I believe this is an efficient representation of getting straight to the point, and saying you are dying.

    This makes me feel fearful and scared of what will happen to people who use cigarettes and makes me want to help them. This fear comes for the smoke in the shape of a noose around the person's neck. I think this is effective because this really shows how much damage cigarettes really do and it will make people think twice about using another cigarette or starting to use cigarettes.

    This image is trying to make me feel that when I smoke a cigarette it is like tying a noose to my neck, and that it is killing me at the same. I am thinking this because the smoke from the cigarette looks like a rope and is tied like a noose around her head. I don't think this is an effective way to persuade someone to quit smoking. All they are trying to do is scare someone out of something they love, or cant quit. And also I feel that there are much better ways to help someone quit smoking, a/e give them facts on what smoking does to your body as well as stating where the facts are coming from

    This is a powerful image because its saying that by smoking its slowly killing you, I think this is an excellent way to persuade someone to stop smoking by showing that when you smoke you're actually just slowly killing yourself

    While this is a very explicit and scary photo, I believe it is the truth. I think this photo demonstrates exactly what smoking is: a death wish. This is showing people exactly what will happen when they decide to pick up a cigarette. Even though an ad like this instils fear into people, I do believe they are effective in that way. Sometimes, people do not understand the damage that can be done unless some fear is given to them. I believe others would agree with me, especially on a topic so powerful as smoking cigarettes.
