propaganda example 3

Background Information
This is a promotion in Hong Kong back to the 60s. The Hong Kong Government encouraged parents taking their children to take vaccination of measles.
Technique Used
Simplify Ideas
This is propaganda because
This poster only coded a sentence of a mother saying "My children had already taken the measles vaccine, how about yours?". It did show any information about the negative influence of measles or where to take the vaccination. The government wanted the public to take the measles vaccine, in order to lower the number of people suffering from measles. It is beneficial because taking measles vaccines can protect people's health, and it is important for them to trust the vaccine and make it an essential affair.

I think that this promotion is beneficial even though it is technically considered propaganda. I believe this is beneficial because it is alerting the community to receive the vaccination for their health. Due to the fact that the poster only states, "My children had already taken the measles vaccine, how about yours?", it does not provide any important information about the vacine. Although, I think it is just a good reminder for people to see in order to start their thinking about receiving the vaccination.
