I think this is an interesting and eye opening form of propaganda, especially with all that's going on in the world today. In the past, this picture of Uncle Sam was used to recruit soldiers for war, a war being fought with another country. Today, he is portrayed with a mask on, and the words "I want YOU to stay at home and stop hoarding toilet paper." Today, we are fighting a war with a virus and by portraying one of the most famous pieces of propaganda, with a mask on telling us to stay home really shows how essential it is for us to follow the governments rules and only leave the house for essential tasks and when we do leave, we are wearing a mask and gloves.

This visual is a modern adaptation of the iconic 1917 Uncle Sam army recruitment posters. The original posters were used to encourage military enlistments to support the war efforts and this contemporary version aims to promote public health and encourage responsible behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic. I agree this poster invites and plays on peoples' sense of patriotism to emphasis the need to stay home and stop hoarding. I believe they used this iconic piece of propaganda to stress that listening to poster is an act of patriotic duty, as it was used 100+ years prior. I personally think the over all message of this visual is positive. I believe so because this poster encourages individuals to stay home and avoid hoarding during a public health crisis, which can be seen as a very responsible message for the circumstances. Another reason it's beneficial and not harmful is because of its use of a familiar image which is often more engaging with audiences in a lighthearted way about a serious topic.
