This is propaganda because
This is propaganda because it is attempting to influence the public's opinion on the company ExxonMobil. In this advertisement, the company is attempting to show that it is trying to do its part in addressing climate change. The reality, however, is this is a public relations tactic to distract from the amount of harm the company has done and continues to do to the environment. While there is some truth that algae has shown great promise as a biofuel, this is not a serious effort to mitigate climate change by ExxonMobil and ultimately why this type of propaganda is harmful. The study "Rhetoric and frame analysis of ExxonMobil's climate change communications" unearths much of these deceitful tactics. https://reader.elsevier.com/reader/sd/pii/S2590332221002335?token=EA36F5BFDE10FB9CCDA89E2024F41B2882C781E78E21BC4B3C324BAD6C1967E169647C936C7279B32B0FCCD739A91E6E&originRegion=us-east-1&originCreation=20211019141001

I find this ad a bit ironic considering that Exxon relies heavily on fossil fuels which are very profitable.
