This is propaganda because
This advertises the cause to free Bradley Manning by describing him as a hero & patriot who exposed government malfeasance. It is dangerous only if you believe he betrayed sensitive secrets to our enemies. His detractors view Manning as a traitor.

This piece of propaganda is very dangerous because it immediately fills your head with opinions against Bradley Manning. The use of the black and white definition let you know that the subject matter is serious, and should not be taken lightly. Also, the word itself, "whistleblower," is accusing Bradley Manning of treason. You don't know if Bradley Manning told U.S. secrets or not, but this propaganda instantly puts you on the "blame train."

While this poster does promote a cause, I don't feel it has much of an impact on my thinking. It seems that it gives more of a statement, rather than an emotional impact on me. As I look into it closer, my opinion of the piece of propaganda does not change.

There are two sides to the arguement of why this is dangerous. One person may think that this is dangerous because people could think that to be a hero, they need to go snooping around in government business to find out everything the people are not being told. Doing an act such as this could be very dangerous. At the same time, this is not dangerous because people may think that what he did was heroic and worthy of praise. The only way to decide if this propaganda is dangerous is to decide if one agrees with the purpose of what Manning did.

The amount of danger that this ad poses depends on the mindset of the viewer and their knowledge of the situation. Some may feel that he is in fact a hero for revealing government information that may or may not affect citizens, whereas some viewers may venture to say that he deserves any and all punishment for leaking the information. This particular advertisement utilizes strong vocabulary and visuals to tug at the viewer's emotions by making it seem as though it is the government that is the bad guy. Of course, I do not know much about the situation that this man is in nor what sort of information was leaked, so I am not able to say much on the cause.

I do not agree with the poster above. Unless there is obvious evidence that points to Bradly Manning being the traitor this poster is not necessary for people to see. If someone, like myself, did not know much about this incident and we saw this poster, it might make us bias because of the lack of knowledge that we have on this topic. Therefore, this might lead to further accusations of military heros and patriots that are actually innocent. Many might become suspicious of the U.S. military in general and wonder if there is anything else that they are secretly doing that may, in the future, harm America. People may wonder if the military converses with our allies and if the soliders are actually true to America in the first place. In conclusion, this small piece of propoganda may lead to very major problems in America.

This poster is very dangerous. When you see the picture, it makes you believe that Manning is a hero, rather than a traitor. It makes you believe he exposed the government's dark secrets to the public, when he actually gave our enemies sensitive, classified information

If Bradley relased information to enemies such as terrorists that put our safety as U.S. citizens in danger, then I think this ad is inappropriate and dangerous because it is teaching people to go against the government in ways that will endanger our safety. However, if the information he revealed was harming us by not knowing it, what he did was right and the ad is not dangerous.

this advertisement leads me to think that they are trying to say that the government is hiding things from us for one thing. saying that the person is a hero, or a patriot, plays on the viewer's emotions.I am puzzled by this advertisemnt, as to its meaning. Another meaning I can see for this is that the overnment thinks that these people are bad, and sets the stereotype that these veterans are going to leak lots of secret information, which is false.

if the government is keeping secrets from us it is not because they dont want us to know, it is because they want to protect us and have widespread riots and panic all over the nation

I don't think this is a good piece of propaganda because I believe that information should be availed to people so they can make their own decisions. Telling people that he's a hero or a patriot is forcing a belief onto them for their own purpose. Let people decide!
