Background Information
Tries to convince people to sign up to serve in the military. Obviously there was a shortage of personnel, so using the American flag design and a fatherly figure was a method of propaganda for the army. It's beneficial; there is no malicious intent.
Technique Used
Activate Emotion
This is propaganda because
Uncle Sam is a poster that was used during both World Wars to try to enlist young men for the military. It's a sort of personification of the United States (hence the initials), and is loosely based off of a meat packer named Samuel Wilson.

This propaganda has an interesting way to promote the US army while simultaneously exhibiting American Patriotism, which is very convincing to the American man who wants to serve his country in a time of war.

We said it was neutral because it is good to have people in the army but it could also be harmful

This poster tries to convince young men to join the U.S Army. Since it gives no consequence for not joining, it is not harmful

Here, there is a sense of patriotism that the author is trying to convey to encourage Americans to join the Army due to a shortage of personnel.

I believe that this is a piece of propaganda that is pretty positive. It is trying to get people to join the United States Army to help protect the country. This is just trying to get you to join the army without spreading any misinformation. This is fairly beneficial.

I believe that this piece of propaganda is, while a recruitment advertisement for war, at least generally positive and inclusive. The poster is saying essentially that the nation needs us, the common citizenry, to unite together and fight for American liberties. Nothing harmful or negative is being shown here.

I believe this propaganda is mostly beneficial because it gets more people for the US army, specifically in World War ll. Without ads like these, Germany could have won and there would be an Aryan race.

I believe this ad is mostly beneficial, it highlights American pride and honor. It convinces individuals to want to participate in serving their country and earning honor. It could be harmful only in the way that some of the soldiers may not make it home alive.

This propoganda works by appealing to Americans value of national pride. The character is a literal personification of the U.S. and the character is also dressed in American colors with an American flag in the background. This was clearly meant to appeal to patriotic people through their emotions for their country. To convince people to join the army during a shortage of soldiers.

This propaganda tries to get people to join the army. This is a contraversial message as army life can be brutal, with possible death or permanent trauma. Life at home tends to be very bad for people who join the military, get deploye, and return. However, the need for people to enlist remains, and if national security is treatened, there is need for more people in the army.

I think it is both because it is supporting a good cause; however, it is very harsh and causes people to feel obligated to go to the army.

Nothing about this is controversial or mean; if it works and helps the military advertise itself, no political harm is done.

I think this is beneficial because the U.S need people to fight the war. They are using a sense of patriotism to gain members, but there is no malicious intent.

I don’t really think this is harmful at all. There isn’t any violence involved on the poster itself. In addition, I think it is quite an effective poster that is trying to convince people to serve in the military.
