American Style

Background Information
This is an ad for Burger King that links the cheeseburger to patriotism. Eating hamburgers is a way of supporting your country or being American.
Technique Used
Activate Emotion
This is propaganda because
A picture of the statue of liberty holding a cheeseburger, this suggests that hamburgers are the classic American food. I wonder if this ad targets new immigrants - to suggest that fast food embodies American values...

This qualifies as a form of propaganda by showing the hamburger and american symbol. This is beneficial to the place selling the burger. They are selling this by protraying something everyone enjoys. This is plainfolks and associations.

This form of propaganda is an appeal to social fears because we all want to fit an and be considered "American" and proud of our ways. We fear being not enough of that. You can also say this is an appeal to plainfolks because this is telling you, "hey, this is the American way, just like you." This in my opinion is beneficial to the propagandist because the bandwagon method is very effective. The propagandist sells the message by showing you a standard and telling you to follow it, which is also why this ad is considered propaganda.

This message qualifies as propaganda because it symbolizes America by the most common food. This is harmful because instead of being focused on the statue of Liberty, people are being focused on the "American food".This message is selling by associating what is known most in America but mixing the two together with one
being viewed more than the other. The message is using association because the good food is being associated with what is known most in America.

    1. The message symbolizes common food.
    2. This is harmful
    3. Propagandist is saying that if you don't buy this cheeseburger then you are not patriotic for your country.
    4. This emotional appeal is self esteem because if you buy this burger you will be known as an American citizen but if you don't then you will not be an American, and it'll make people feel good to be an American.

The message qualifies as propaganda because they are trying to sell burgers. They are using the emotional appeal associations. They are selling the message by associating the statue of liberty(symbol of freedom) with a hamburger. Saying that is the "American style". This could be beneficial to the seller because more people will buy hamburgers.

This message qualifies as propaganda because they are trying to sell burgers to us and saying that "because were american we should eat them." I think this is beneficial to the seller because then more people will buy them because it's for "american" . They are selling this message by using the statue of liberty and the emotional appeal would be associations because a seller is making this to sell hamburgers.

This is propaganda because it shows a picture of a burger and the Statue of Liberty. This is harmful because its trying to change the perception of the American citizen. The "seller" is getting his sale by digging into our American Dream or perception to be good people. This appeals to self esteem, social fear, and association with the fear of standing out if you dont eat americanized burgers, being free and happy enough to eat foods that are "delicious", or not feeling like a "true" American.

this counts as a propaganda because its showing an ad of how america keeps eating fast food. This is beneficial. propaganda is selling this message by having the burger in the statue of liberty hand. The appeal would be appeal to self esteem because people are sometimes cautious about what they eat and the ad helps that.

this could be classified as propaganda by the way it appeals to a readers emotions about food. this could be harmful because it is a fast food and fast food is bad for people. the way the message is selling propaganda is by having the statue of liberty holding a hamburger and the caption is american style. This could appeal to its readers emotions by making them think since the burger is AMERICAN STYLE that it is more patriotic to eat fast food.

This qualifies as propaganda because they are trying to sell the hamburger. It is beneficial to society because it is promoting the new food. It is selling the message by using an american landmark. This propaganda is plainfolk because the stature of liberty is an american monument and everyone knows what it is.

I agree with kennedy c because they are trying to sell this burger by associating it with the statue of liberty. It is an emotional appeal as well as the plainfolk appeal
