Background Information
This is a segment from the Feb. 12, 2021 Amanpour & Company news show. It features journalist Christianne Amanpour introducing the segment and Hari Srinavasan interviewing Jason Stanley, scholar and author of How Fascism Works about a 2 minute video shown at the Feb. 6th Trump rally. The propaganda is the 2 minute video, and Stanley breaks it down and analyzes it beautifully.

The 2 minute video actually uses all of the techniques above. It activates emotion (hatred, fear, longing, etc.) via images and music played. It responds to various audience needs for a) redress to grievances ("stolen" election, Jewish takeover of media and government, need for security and stability, etc.) b) a strong leader to set things right c) racial and gender harmony, etc. It simplifies ideas - all of the above in a 2 minute video. It attacks opponents by showing them weak and confused (Biden) or in powerful places (Congress, the UN, etc.) where they shouldn't be.
