Covid Vaccine

Background Information
This was mailed to my home without my approval. I took the photo to send to a family member and didn't photograph the back so I do not know exactly who it came from. I think it was the Rhode Island Department of Health, but again I am not sure.
Technique Used
Activate Emotion
This is propaganda because
It uses emotional tactics to encourage individuals to get the vaccine because it will "end the pandemic". It is attempting to influence the decision of the viewer and sway them towards receiving the vaccine when it is available. Rather than outlining both the factual pros/cons and health benefits/possible effects, regarding the vaccine, it simply tells the viewer that they will help their family, friends, and community if they get it. It also suggests that the individual reader has the power to end the worldwide pandemic, which I find to be unrealistic.

I think this is a good way to get the message out that the vaccine is a safe and effective strategy in order to control the pandemic and I also think that the more people that receive things like this flyer the more people will go and get vaccinated.

I definitely believe people should get vaccinated but It just does not sit well with me that everyone is urging everyone to get the vaccine that got approved so quick and for "emergency" use. My mom has worked in the hospital on the frontline with COVID patients and even she does not want the vaccine because she knows that there is little research to this new vaccine. I just don't believe we should all feel obligated to get the vaccine right away and I know personally some employers are trying to push for their employees to get the vaccine but it is someones choice not a requirement.

I have the impression that this is to fight another propaganda. It is to fight the idea that they are trying to sell more, or to implant a chip using this vaccine or whatever reason people are spreading the idea to not take the vaccine. We already take so much vaccine without knowing what it has or what side effects it brings etc. Why now, for this specific vaccine, people wants to know all about?

While I believe that everyone should get vaccinated, this implies that everyone has the access to get vaccinated immediately. It places guilt on those who aren't able to get the vaccine because it hasn't been available to them yet.
