Endometriosis Clinical Trial

Background Information
This advertisement has the purpose of recruiting women from ages 18 to 49 who have been diagnosed with endometriosis for a study. This advertisement was created by AutoCruitment, which is a platform that helps you recruit, qualify, and refer the right patients for a particular clinical trial. The advertisement was found on the social network platform Instagram.
Technique Used
Respond to Audience Needs
This is propaganda because
It offers monetary compensation as a way to engage the audience. Also, it offers specific criteria for those who qualify for the trial which means that it is meant to target a particular population. I think it influences behavior in a beneficial way because both the audience and the recruiter would benefit from the partnership. Additionally, this clinical trial will help advance science and endometriosis treatments.

I believe this is harmful because it gives women false hope that the procedure will "cure" their endometriosis. Knowing a lot about this condition, it is hard to believe that these so called procedures work, especially because of what some of my friends and family have gone through. There are many other ways you can find out that you have endometriosis and I don't believe in doing a trial and getting money is the way to go. With the knowledge I know, I find this harmful. Everyone has their own opinions but I believe you shouldn't have procedures unless you truly need them because they have long lasting harmful side effects that are more common than people know.
