This is propaganda because
This ad should be considered propaganda because it is trying to influence people to attend their workout classes by emphasizing the guest they have for a specific week. The ad appeals to ethos because it was posted by F45, a proven workout brand that is very popular. The brand has proven it’s standing in society and within the workout class world. So, the brand is reliable and people will trust that the guest will be a good one without decreasing the effectiveness of a class. This appeals to pathos because the featured guest is Mark Whalberg who is a famous actor and many people may want to attend a class taught by him, including people who generally don’t attend F45 workout classes. If people like his movies, they may be invested in his work and inclined to attend the class. Also, the ad appeals to logos because Mark Whalberg has been in some action movies, and logically has experience in working out intensively and training for roles like soldier, police officer, etc. He has a proven track record in fitness and it makes sense for him to help lead a class. This ad appeals to kairos because they are sending out the ad one week before the week of workout classes which is far enough in advance that people can plan to attend, but not too far that people will forget who the guest is or that they wanted to go. I think this is neutral to positive propaganda because the ad is just sharing the guest for the workout classes. It is not excluding people or saying that only individuals who look like Mark Whalberg should attend, or that if you attend you will look like him. However, people still may deduce those messages unconsciously or by themselves if they already feel unwelcome or uncomfortable in a group workout environment.
