Feeding Meat to Kids = Child Abuse

Background Information
This was a billboard created by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and was used in the UK in 2007. The ad campaign was an effort to fight the obesity epidemic by blaming the problem on consumption of meat.
Technique Used
Simplify Ideas
This is propaganda because
The ad is simplifying ideas because obesity is a complex problem. Consumption of meat is not the only reason kids are obese but plays on emotions by saying it is abuse. The ad is harmful because it is not providing a full picture of this problem.

I think this commercial is more harmful than beneficial. Eating meat is not the only cause of obesity, and even if it was, there were no scientific facts to prove it on the ad. Also, saying that having your kids eat meat is abusive is not going to get more supporters for your cause.

Even though eating too much meat can be the fat, it can also build muscles and help you.

This is harmful because it harms overweight kids' body image. Also the fact that meat is the cause of obesity isn't true.

I believe the connection between meat from animals and child abuse is too far of a stretch and because of that, this is considered a harmful campaign. This can also be a harmful ad because it can make younger kids in middle and high school think that they have a poor body image due to what they eat. Although meat is not great to eat all the time it is important because it helps with body growth and muscle building.
