Background Information
On September 20th, 2000 public high school students in Louisiana were told that they would be going to a college career fair. Instead, they were dropped off at an event called "Day of Hope" at the Living Faith Christian Center. Students were told to forgive their abusers and forced to do push-ups outside, while trans students had water dumped on their heads. Many students reported that they felt traumatized after the event.

The author of this post starts off with a statement that catches people's attention, then goes on to explain the vent in more detail and include testimony from one of the parents. The last slide ends with the author criticizing white evangelicals, and the caption reads "love thy neighbor and kidnap thy neighbor to show them how much the lord loves them." The author is using pathos to evoke sadness and rage from the audience, while comparing the situation to right-wing ideologies.
