This illustration is an obvious piece of propaganda by the United States government against ISIS. The message is simple, join ISIS and you will die.

I understand that the purpose of the message is to deter young impressionable people from joining ISIS, but it does not communicate that message well. I didn't know that had anything to do with ISIS until reading the description.

This drawing is extremely harmful, and plays with many human emotions, not only does it show victimization occurring, but also emotions of anger, hurt, and sadness in the mix. I would not like to come across such a drawing, no matter what, because at the end of the day, humans are humans, no one is going to like seeing people being ground in the meat grinder.

I think the image cannot express the real meaning the author wanted to deliver. Instead of telling people it is harmful to join in ISIS, the image will make people scary.

I was part of the munitions team that loaded the 60k leaflets into the dispenser; this image is cut off on the right side. To translate quickly, on the top left it says "Da'esh recruiting center", on the top right it says "Now Serving 6001".

This message was dropped into a town days before our Intel people predicted Da'esh would roll into town and start their rampages and public beheadings in order to force people to fight for them. At the time anyone who took up arms would then be subject to their rules. Anyone who refused was killed, anyone who turned from battle was killed, and anyone they deemed unable to fight (elders and sick) must help the cause or be killed. Most of the town evacuated before the Da'esh soldiers showed up probably sparing quite a few lives.

There are other leaflets we have dropped that have saved many of innocent lives.
