Since I couldn't find the proper source, to me this relates to the ongoing natural conflict right now in Thailand because the pollution is taking over the whole country and it just seems as if the feet are representing the pollution. It's simple because there are no words, it just simplifies the idea that this is an ongoing problem, and when people look at it the first thing that will pop up into their mind is the ongoing event, pollution.
