Context
After WWII, the U.S. was concerned about the Iron Curtain and growth of communism throughout the world, and especially at home. The U.S. government started to crackdown on the comminust parties, with any action being up for suspicion. Herb Block was a leading voice against the fear tactics used in the government during that time.
