Found on my Twitter/x: t’s a new school year! And politicians are dusting off their “thoughts and prayers” tweets after the summer break. We can break this cycle. Will you sign our petition demanding Congress ban AR-15s and end school shootings? We need 25,000 signatures TODAY!

This group is organizing people to support changes to gun laws. It's a form of activism and it will be beneficial. But it will not be easy.

    A high schooler
    This post makes the unsubstantiated claim that a ban on AR-15s would somehow "stop mass shootings", despite the fact that most mass shootings are committed with handguns.

    It is, at best, a massive oversimplification of reality. I'd argue that it's an outright lie.
