Background Information
This is an image of a man holding presumedly his child on the home page of the website of the International Rescue Committee - an international aid organization.

This is propaganda because
This is supposed to inspire people to help refugees in whatever way they may. I find it beneficial propaganda - the more support the organization gets, the more people it may help. It's a top rated, highly transparent org.

I agree that this is beneficial propaganda and that this organization needs all the support it can get to promote safety and peace for these displaced groups. The image does a good job of invoking ethos from the image of the young children and also takes the highroad in talking about the hatred directed at these groups. Without mentioning any specific groups, it denounces hatred in favor of acceptance and peace.

The whole situation with refugees is overwhelming for the world, since support for them is scarce due to the violence involved. This advertisement brings the audience to want to support people in need. It's also beneficial because it brings attention to the cause. The propaganda uses emotional appeals such as ethos to bring awareness and deep feelings towards the organization.

This propaganda is good. The first thing I notice when I look at this is that it is pretty much straightforward because a good amount of info is used in the headlines (you could say) , so this establishes the Logos technique. Another thing is that this conveys emotional appeal, as someone who looks at this will feel bad for the man and the child.

I agree that this is beneficial propaganda because this ad aims to encourage others to believe that their is no justification for the violence in Paris, Beirut, or Senai, although that can come off as biased. Altogether, the ad is trying to help others in a positive way and is not spreading lies or negative ideas.

Pathos is used in the advertisement. It encourages people to help refugees in any way possible. The image includes a child which would appeal to the readers emotions, such as sympathy. This ad isn't spreading hate or lies, I would say it is beneficial.

In this propaganda, pathos is used because it is trying to appeal to those who feel sad about the way these people around the world are being treated and are living. It encourages the people to get help and to provide help for the refugees, with using a child it also appears to parents in particular because nobody should be in that situation, especially a child who cannot provide for themselves yet. This propaganda is beneficial and uses a lot of emotional appeal and sympathy towards the people who are in this group and picture.

This advertisement uses pathos and ethos. The pathos is clearly seen by the holding of the small child and the appeal to the viewers to welcome refugees in. The ethos is used when the advertisement says "The IRC has been at the forefront of the humanitarian response". The IRC than invites others to help. If the viewer does decide to help they are joining the bandwagon of the IRC and in some ways limiting themselves to other organizations and points of view. The IRC is working to help refugees which is a humanitarian victory, but this advertisement is still propaganda for an organization.

d appeals to ethos because it showing people that others are in danger and they should be there to help and not just stand by and watch. also that we need to help these refugees because they are not a threat they are in need of help. there are kids out there and if we arent doing for the adults that we should at least do it for them because they still have a life to live.

This propaganda is very beneficial because it uses pathos to get sympathy from the person seeing this. People will want to do anything to help because they will want to help the child on the cover, and similar children, so they don't have to continue living like that. Also, the word choice is very effective in specifying the creator's view on the issue.

This is a good piece of work to get an emotional appeal. Showing a young child associated with a horrific backdrop set to the context of terror attacks appeals to someone's emotions. It's a pathos appeal.

This comic is harmful because it shows one country overpowering another.
