Make America Great Again Campaign Meme

Background Information
This is an image that features Donald Trump's presidential campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again!"
Technique Used
Simplify Ideas
This is propaganda because
This is trying to persuade people to want to vote for Trump by evoking patriotism and passion from the audience with the staged promise that America will become "great" again if under the leadership of Trump. It simplifies the idea that America was great and now is not, but that by voting for Trump America will regain some unstated status.

This is beneficial because it's showing how good and how amazing trump is. I could see why this is harmful to other people because if they don't support trump, then they are going to get angry or hate him even more.

It implies there is something dangerous going on right now. This could be harmful because if you don't know much about trump, then it could put you in a bad situation.

I think this one is between beneficial and harmful because when you look at it looks good and could influence you in a positive way if you didn't know who Trump was, but it doesn't show any factual information.

I think this is beneficial to Donald trump's campaign. It shows exactly what he wants to do with America and is very positive. Even if you don't agree with him on his issues, this ad is pretty positive.

I put this rating in between beneficial and harmful because it all depends on your viewpoint on the political spectrum. Conservatives might approve of what Donald Trump thinks of making America great again and Liberals might not. It's all on what you believe.

I have absolutely no problem with this. Politicians do whatever they can in order to gain followers. This definitely is harming no one. Trump wants to make America great again.... This is a word he needs to live up to.

Although my views of Donald Trump probably makes my rating on the propaganda particularly bias, I rated this as moderate towards harmful. Even if this piece of propaganda was for a politician that I liked, I would still think this is harmful as it might lead someone to false impressions. Someone might read this and vote for Trump because it says that he will make America great again, but they might not actually do research into what his plans and policies actually are.

This is in the middle because his message isn't negative. Even if you aren't a fan of Trump or his politics, the idea of making America great again is beneficial to everybody. It's in the middle because the propaganda is really only effective (to make you support him) if you're on that general side of the political spectrum. So I guess it depends on your view on Trump.

This is propaganda because this misleads people into believing that Donald Trump will actually make America "great" by trying to incorporate patriotism. This is not shown by any sort of statistics. This propaganda does use ethos because this includes Donald Trump, not only a presidential candidate but a famous entrepreneur which could account for credibility.

I feel like this should have more evidence as to why people should vote for him (Which they should not because he is stupid, awfully arrogant, and has no game plan in this campaign). For example, there should be pictures with actions that he does to support this nation, like donating to charities or funding many different organizations. If this ad had this, then more people would support him.

This ad is trying to make people vote for trump, to make him look like a perosn trying to restore america to a one sided nation, but after all of his unhumanized allegations of getting rid of all the Mexicans, people are turning away from him. The slogan in the ad "making america great again", refers to making america for the Americans, kind of like how previous leaders tried to get rid of the native Americans that used to own America. This is going to provoke many negative and positive viewers.

Unfortunately the minimalism of the ad is effective because it doesn't actually go into specifics about Trump's views. It portrays him as a strong leader faced with the task of making an overall broken country a positive force again. The image invokes Ethos from Trump's peace sign, the stars around his message, and the suggestion that there is little to nothing currently good about the U.S. after years of going in the wrong direction.

This is a prime example of glittering generality and a slogan that is catchy, but doesn't mean anything. It could also be considered a contradictory premise, we should make America great again, but it's still the best country in the world?

This advertisement encompasses the advertisement persuasive technique glittering generalities. It emphasizes the highly-valued beliefs of patriotism and also uses celebrity spokesperson by having Donald Trumps face in the background. I think his campaign slogan of "Make America Great Again!" will appeal to many voters especially Republicans however Donald Trump is a very unappealing person for me.

This is propaganda supporting Donald Trumps's presidential campaign run. It is poisoning the well, making people believe that America isn't that great and it must be fixed and Trump will be he one to do it. It also uses emotional appeals incite feelings of patriotism in the American public.

This ad is propaganda, this ad uses the persuasive technique of glittering generalities. That just by stating make "america great again" doesn't show any ways that one would make america great, or that america isn't great to begin with. This ad also uses pathos because it encourages people to feel patriotic and proud of america and therefor want to support Trump in his goal to 'make america great again' with out any real logic or facts behind his statement.

This is propaganda, it is trying to persuade more people to vote for Donald Trump. The words, "Make America Great Again!" are trying to show an emotional appeal. The use of pathos would encourage people to be patriotic. By voting for Trump, individuals will be proud to be included in making America "great" as if it already isn't.

What does it mean to make American great "again". America is already pretty good, albeit it could be better. But this poster gives the sense that things used to be better than they are now, when all social scientists agree that time almost always increases standard of living. Also, no solutions have been provided to make America great again.

This propaganda directly supports Donald Trump by making a purely pathos appeal to its audience. It aims to invoke feelings of hope and faith that Donald Trump will effectively restore the country to its former glory. Likewise, the ads demographic is most likely people who harbor this belief, feeling as though America has not been progressing, and even backtracked. It may also serve as a point of contention, as though voting for Trump will not make America "great" and goes against everyone's assumed need to progress. The slogan, "Make America Great Again!", further serves to solidify these feelings of reassurance.

This propaganda supports Donald Trump making a pathos appeal to the audience reading this. Trump claims to want to "make America great again," but is so wrong with the country as of right now? He's using pathos because the percentage of the population that doesn't like Obama, feels that America isn't nearly as great as it used to be, therefore Trump's slogan "make America great again," would appeal to them and evoke feelings of excitement among the population. Trump is trying to appeal to the people who feel that America has not been progressing, and therefore are excited for Trump, because of his slogan, "Make America Great Again."

The advertisement is a generality. The advertisement leaves many questions unanswered. What does it mean to be great? How can America become great? Was America ever great? Was America ever not great? The advertisement addresses none of these questions but instead hopes that the viewer will be swept up by the leadership and charisma that Donald Trump wants to convey.

This relies heavily on ethos and pathos. Donald Trump has become an easily recognizable character in recent months. He has not made himself all that credible as he has made constant headlines from comments that were not intelligent or well thought out. However he does have some following that views him as credible because of his wealth and other achievements. Depending on who is looking at this, there would be two different responses; one of disgust and sarcasm and the other one of support.

This ad is propaganda, it is using pathos and glittering Generalities to try and get people worked up with pride in being an American to vote for Donald Trump. Trump is trying to make the people who feel that America is not as good as it could be, want to make it "great'' again, however if America was great before why are people still striving to make it great.? There is no logic to his slogan " make America Great Again" because there is for some people America was great and for others it was and still is a miserable tragedy.

This campaign is a great example of glittering generality. By conveying the idea that if Donald Trump were to become president, America would be great again. Many Americans already know that that is too good to be true and in order to become great again we need someone great in office and Trump just doesn't fit that bill. But aside from my personal perspective there is a lot of damage that Trump alone could not reverse.

I said that this is harmful because Donald Trump is an idiot. He is not politically qualified to become the President of the United States and it's embarrassing and disrespectful to the principles of American culture that Trump would even run at all. This ad is utilizing false analogy. A great America and the ideas that Trump discusses are not at all correlated. The things that Donald Trump boasts about are disgusting and negative and would make our country go backward in it's policies. Our country was never "great". It can only continue to grow and become "great" and to become better for ALL of it's citizens, not just white American males.
Also, this uses the persuasive technique of emotional appeals. It would encourage any American who feels "patriotic" to follow Donald Trump and to look into his ideas. Anyone who is uncomfortable with progressive ideas and change would support this ad and would feel pride and a desire to fight for their conservative ideals.

This is a ridiculous piece of propaganda, as it is essentially blank space. It has a picture of Trump, but it isn’t a good picture, and he doesn’t look professional in it. It also features a generic slogan, which holds no real substance, and is an empty promise. However, this is an extremely effective ad for Trumps supporters, as it is inspirational and brief.

This piece of propaganda is ridiculous. It shows just how Trump truly looks at things beside what him himself has made or accomplished. He makes it seem that every little thing that is happening in America is an end of life crisis and that only the most cruel form of dealing with things is the only way. He chooses to quickly deal with an issue with possible repercussions instead of finding or trying to find underlying issues.
