My rating of harmful has the majority over the others, though it's surprising to me to see the second highest rating showing "beneficial". I see this as incredibly harmful and a gross misrepresentation of the work police officers do and the few instances that have resulted in (self-defense) deaths.

I rated this piece in the middle of the scale. There are so many other factors that come into play on this topic. For example, the circumstances and background information as to why the person was killed. Granted, its a high number regardless, theres a lot of information missing.

I rated this propaganda right in the middle. I believe that this image has some truth but not the full truth. Information is missing.

This qualifies as propaganda because it is appealing to the persons take on cops in the united stares and making them look bad. this is harmful because it is making the men and women that are keeping our streets safe look like they are killers them selfs. they are selling this propaganda by putting up facts about how many citizens where killed by cops in the U.S,China,Canada, and England. i think this piece is appealing to fear because it can make people think that all cops are bad in the united states.

This piece is propaganda because it is persuading people to make a change to the American justice system. I believe it is beneficial because it gives information that not everyone is aware of. The propagandist is selling the message by using statistics and a threatening image of a policeman that people will most likely pay attention to. The emotional appeal used is appeal to authority or experts because most people respect policemen, but may not after seeing these statistics.

This type of propaganda appeals to authority or experts because this particular work contains statistical data and is meant to make us trust them.
This can be both harmful and beneficial because it can bring awareness of the issue but at the same time it can cause a paranoid scare.
The propagandist sells the message by placing awareness and fear into the readers.
This qualifies as propaganda for that reason.

This qualifies as propaganda because it is giving us information biased on the fact that many citizens have been killed by a police officer in 2015. The US seems to have killed 31 times more than the other countries listed all together.
I find this both beneficial because it's getting the word out there, which helps a lot because it may help led to the end of this.
It's "selling" the message because it grabs at people's emotions. People feel bad about others dying, it also enrages others because it's an unneeded loss of life.
The emotional appeal is the appeal to pity because it upsets others because people are dying.

This message qualifies as propaganda because it is displaying the anxiety that some
People may have towards the police because of the stories we hear about the police"taking things too far".This is harmful because we do not want our kids being afraid of the people they are suppose to have an idea of safety towards.Propaganda is selling the message by comparing the death rates in the US and other countries. This emotional appeal is association because it is associating police officers with american killers

This message qualifies as propaganda, because the creators of this picture are trying to open our eyes and showing us that cops in the United States are more brutal than in other countries. They are trying to change this problem by comparing how many people died because of cops in 2015 alone. This is beneficial, because this will open the eyes of the people and become aware of how police brutality is present in the U.S. especially. They present this message by comparing how much more citizens are killed by cops in the United States than in China, Canada and England. This message is an appeal to Pity. The reason why is that they make us feel worried about how cops are killers and that we need to do something to stop it.

This qualifies as propaganda because its showing us how cops in the U.S. are very brutal compared to other countries. This is very beneficial because it is telling us that we need to make a change in the innocent killing of civilians by cop. They sell this message by comparing Canada, China, and England with the killings in the U.S. This is an appeal to pity because we are sad for those that have been killed by cops innocently.

It shows how other countries cops are less likely to kill one of their citizens, were as America has not only killed more but so much its scary. This is a very harmful message by saying that American cops are not "peacekeepers". The "seller" is getting the message out through a very clear picture of a cop hitting a person with a baton as the citizen puts his hands out for him to stop, show he's no threat, and is unwanted of this pain. Also by showing a small statistic of how many citizens actually died in some other parts of the world that could be questionable, like communist controlling China or harmless maple syrup loving Canada. This message appeals to self esteem for feeling afraid or feeling like cops are too dangerous could also be appealing to authority so that people will respond and obey cops more for fearing their own deaths.

This qualifies as propaganda because it shows us that the police of the united states are so brutal unto the point they end up killing the citizens of america. This is beneficial because it keeps the citizens aware and gives them a voice. The people of this article sell this message because it compares other countries to the U.S. I say this appeals to pity because so many people were lost to police brutality like Micheal Brown and many more

I agree with Damone G that the propagandist is appealing to pity but making us sad for the one's we've lost. However, I disagree that this piece of propaganda is giving anyone a voice, although it is definitely raising awareness of police brutality.

This message qualifies as propaganda by showing how the US has a drastically higher number of citizens killed by cops then the rest of the countries. This is beneficial because these numbers can have a great impact on how we look as our society as a whole. They're selling the message by showing how the US is the only one with a high number. Appeal to pity because it makes you think differently about all of the citizens that have been hurt and killed.

This is propaganda because it touches on the emotion of pity towards the families of the people these police killed. It might be more harmful though because it might make people lose trust in our police force.

I agree with Yaritza V. that the number of deaths by police are way to high in the U.S.A. compared to other countries. Also she said that this appeals to pity, which it does because we feel bad for those families that had a relative killed by police.

I agree with Yaritza V. because this message does show that it appeals to pity. I'd like to expand on this because people would show pity since multiple deaths by cops and that we should get better forces.

I think this propaganda poster is beneficial. It's beneficial because the poster is showing that there is something wrong in this country compared to others. The amount of killings by police officers should not be this high in this country when in other places it's not even in the hundredths. These are American citizens being killed by American cops. The rhetorical strategies being used range from bold contrast colors to simple pictures with powerful messages that are easily understood. After some research into the site CopCrisis.com, I found that stats from US Department of Justice and Cato Institute's Police Misconduct Project were legitimate sources that showed persuasive evidence of police brutality.

It is not the cops fault. They do not make laws, they enforce them. They are protecting themselves from danger. It is their JOB. The "black lives matter" is crap. People say that cops shouldn't have guns, you're dumb because that is not only putting the cops lives in danger but your life in danger too. Cops are good people. They spend their lives protecting you and they get nothing in return. Think about the cops families and everything else.

This implies all police officers are cruel and have evil intent which is not true. In every profession you have bad apples so the goal should be to weed out the bad apples.
