I CANNOT stand for this. Absolutely harmful propaganda that has allowed people to believe that climate change is made up. The science has been replicated and has been published in the most stringent journals in the world: please wake up!

Is there a way to separate opinion pieces that are represented in all major media outlets from focused propagandistic messages? We may disagree with George Will's opinion (or that of a variety of commentators on any number of topics), but it degrades the analytical usefulness of the term "propaganda" to lump all opinion pieces disseminated through mass media as propaganda.

Mr Will has a point. I decided to view the clip from the website because I was a little confused over how the term "propaganda" was being used. I wasn't sure if he meant that the opponents of the global warming issues and their propaganda about it not issue not existing or that the proponents of global warming were talking to the crowd and no one was listening. It is the latter. To his point, nothing has really changed the American citizen's behavior save for a handful of "tree-huggers" (term used loosely). We still purchase SUV's, many of us commute to work without the advantages of carpooling, and we still continue to use fossil fuels in many things we do and many products we use. So I rated this a somewhat beneficial because it brings to light how little affect the message of global warming is getting lost in the rhetoric.
