Manufacturing consent for endless war: Is US propaganda money well spent?

This is propaganda because it evokes a feeling of sadness and a slight tinge of guilt. In America, Uncle Sam is seen as an image of freedom, patriotism, the American way. Sam being shown in the poster as distressed shows that Sam is becoming tired of the corruption and ill-will that has been implemented into this country due through political officials. Normally, Uncle Sam would be seen sternly pointing at the viewer, whereas in this poster, he is seen reaching out a bandaged as if to beckon for help.
