Contexte
A WhatsApp message that displayed the name of Lula da Silva next to the number 17. When Brazilians vote, they punch in a number for a candidate or party in an electronic voting machine. But this information is wrong. The number 17 was for Mr. Bolsonaro’s party. Lulu dropped out of the race and is serving a 12-year sentence for corruption. This is intentionally falsified political communication.

It's an attack on the running mate Lula's running mate, Haddad, who is competing with Bolsonaro. Equating Lula and Bolsonaro is a political strategy designed to manipulate people based on their feelings about the charismatic Lula, hoping these feelings will transfer to #17, Mr. Bolsonaro, who is an extreme right-wing candidate.

    When politicians intentionally mislead like this, this crosses the line and cannot be tolerated. There should be fines and other punishments for deliberate efforts to trick people into voting for you.
