I signed a petition during the 2020 elections (I can't remember exactly what for) through MoveOn, and somehow they got my number and I constantly receive texts from them asking me to sign more petitions.

I think that these messages are clear examples of attacking opponents- MoveOn is a leftist platform that aims to combat decisions made by the GOP. By using terminology like "MAGA extremists" MoveOn is targeting the right and questioning their ideas, credibility and essentially vilifying them.
