Unibomber Sketch

Contexte
The FBI released in February 1987 a suspect sketch of the Unabomber, later found to be Ted Kaczynski, released in February 1987, following a Salt Lake City, Utah, bombing. The sketch shows the first view of the suspect in his infamous hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses. Compare this FBI composite to a picture of the actual criminal, Ted Kaczynski. I think if the sketch was run through a profiliing app, it would reveal a suspect of Arabic descent. This sketch was issued four years before that an abhorrent Arab stereotype appeared in the Walt Disney’s “Aladdin”. It seems there may be a purpose to distributing these images in this time frame.

    I see this as beneficial because without it we would have not been in people's thoughts this this could be the guy next to me. Got peoples mind thinking of who he was and what his crimes were. It made people more self-aware that this could happen in MT. People could value this as tool for visual thoughts and awareness. The person itself might start to feel closed in on. Like people might recognize his face. But also, it gives the person another way to disguise himself and make changes to one's appearance if this is what type of suspect they are looking for. People can see this as dangerous because what do they do if they come across someone who has committed this horrible crime.
